Privacy Policy

Effective October 23, 2026

Time Away is a children’s keepsake book created by Andreea and Thomas Dimofte. This notice explains how information is handled when you visit timeawaybook.com, submit a review, contact us, or follow our checkout link. The storefront and purchasing features are intended for adults, including parents and caregivers.

Questions or privacy requests: timeawaybook@gmail.com.

Your choices come first

Optional advertising tracking is off by default. We load Meta Pixel only after you choose “Allow advertising cookies” and confirm you are 18 or older. Declining does not prevent you from browsing, ordering, or contacting us. Closing the cookie panel without choosing does not give consent.

You can withdraw permission using “Your Privacy Choices” or “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” at the bottom of every page. Declining stops future Meta tracking on this site, removes the Meta cookies we can clear on our domain, and reloads a page if the Pixel was already loaded. It does not undo information already sent to Meta or remove cookies on Meta’s own domains.

We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC), and also treat a browser’s Do Not Track signal as an opt-out. These signals override any saved permission. Choices apply to this browser and device; repeat your choice on other browsers or devices. Clearing browser storage removes the saved choice, and optional tracking returns to off until you allow it again.

Information collected and why

Meta Pixel and data limits

Our Meta Pixel ID is 1839238473752415. This site explicitly tracks only PageView on the storefront and events pages after consent. It does not send Purchase events. Automatic event detection is disabled, no advanced-matching data is supplied, and customer names, email addresses, review contents and Stripe payment details are not included in our Meta events. Tracking is excluded from the privacy and administration pages and from URLs with unrecognized query parameters or fragments to reduce accidental disclosure.

Advertising identifiers and page activity can constitute personal information even without names or emails. Sharing them with Meta for advertising may be considered “sharing,” targeted advertising, or a “sale” under some US privacy laws. You can opt out using our privacy controls or GPC. We do not sell the information submitted through our review form or email for money.

Read Meta’s Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy for its uses, retention and controls. Your Meta account also provides advertising and off-Meta activity settings.

Cookies and browser storage

StoragePurpose and choice
timeaway_privacy_v1 (local storage)Necessary record of allow/decline, policy version and choice time. Stays in this browser until changed or cleared. It is not sent to Meta.
_fbp and _fbc (Meta cookies)Optional advertising measurement identifiers. Meta may set these after consent; _fbc relates to an ad click. Meta commonly uses a lifetime of up to 90 days, which can be renewed. Browser rules may shorten it.
Hosting/sign-in storageService providers may use necessary security or session storage, especially for restricted administration. These do not authorize advertising tracking.

When JavaScript is disabled, our optional tracking does not run. Stripe’s own checkout and third-party sites have their own storage and privacy controls.

Providers and external links

The site is hosted through OpenAI Sites and its infrastructure providers, including Cloudflare. Email is handled through Gmail. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives technical connection information when fonts are requested. Videos and product images are served as site assets; we do not embed a third-party video player. Links to Stripe and Google Maps take you to those services when you choose to open them.

Providers process information to deliver their services and may process it in the United States or other countries. See Stripe’s Privacy Policy and Google’s Privacy Policy. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect the site and its users, or as needed for order fulfillment.

Retention and security

Review records remain in our review system until removed; published reviews remain visible until unpublished or deleted. Email and order records may be retained for customer support, fulfillment, recordkeeping and legal obligations. Contact us to request deletion. Hosting, email, payment and advertising providers apply their own retention schedules. We use access controls for administration, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Privacy requests

Depending on your state and the law’s applicability, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of personal information, opt out of sale/sharing or targeted advertising, and appeal a denied request. We offer advertising choices to all visitors, regardless of state. We do not use your data to make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.

Email timeawaybook@gmail.com with “Privacy request” and describe your request. An authorized agent may also contact us. We may ask for information reasonably needed to verify an access or deletion request, but no identity verification or account is required to decline tracking. To appeal a response, reply with “Privacy appeal.” We will review requests under applicable law without charging a different price or denying service because you exercised your privacy choices.

Children’s privacy

The book is for children; online purchases, cookie consent, reservations and review submissions are for adults. Parents or guardians should submit any child’s feedback themselves and use initials or a non-identifying name. We do not knowingly seek personal information or advertising consent from children under 13. If you believe a child submitted personal information, email us so we can review and remove it as appropriate.

Updates

We may revise this notice when our practices change. The effective date above identifies the current notice. A materially new optional tracking purpose will require a new choice before it is activated.
